Study on the effects of nitro-based fuel additive on diesel engine performance and emissions

چکیده
Through adding nitro-based fuel additive into diesel fuel,the influences of on engine performance, gaseous emission, particle number concentration and exhaust smoke were studied a test bench. Meanwhile, the functioning mechanism combustion characteristics through constant volume vessel. The system is composed high pressure common rail injection system, vessel, speed camera, data synchronization acquisition system. maximum 160 MPa, it can be heated to 1000 K under back 3 MPa. According research results, decrease both temperature for european steady state cycle(ESC). Moreover, improved engine’s power slightly expanded economic consumption working area. minimum rate was reduced from 204.6g/kWh 202.2g/kWh, highest saving about 2%. After MAZ, mass recycled particles by 15%,and average intensity most operating points showed downward trend, with drop 55%, NOx weighted emissions whole cycle decreased more than additive, ignition delay flame lift-off length became longer in process, but duration shorter, which are accordance chemical reaction kinetics analysis.
